The United Kingdom has reportedly blocked the United States from using key British military bases, including RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire and the strategic Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, for any potential strikes against Iran.

The decision, attributed to concerns over international law and a reluctance to implicate Britain in pre-emptive military action, comes amid heightened U.S.-Iran tensions over Tehran’s nuclear program.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s government has withheld permission for American aircraft to launch from these sites, according to reports from The Times and other outlets.

This stance has escalated friction between Washington and London, with President Donald Trump withdrawing previous support for a UK-proposed deal on the Chagos Islands sovereignty—home to the Diego Garcia base—linking the issue directly to potential operations against Iran.

In a strongly worded statement, Trump warned that without a nuclear deal from Iran, the U.S. “may have to take it a step further,” emphasizing the possible need for bases like Diego Garcia and Fairford to “eradicate a potential attack by a highly unstable and dangerous Regime.”

He suggested such threats could target not only the U.S. but allies including the United Kingdom.

**THIS IS VERY BAD** — the refusal highlights deepening **UK-US tensions** at a critical moment, complicating American military options in the region and raising questions about alliance cohesion.

Markets reacted with unease, as investors fear prolonged geopolitical uncertainty could disrupt global energy supplies and trade routes.

Oil prices ticked upward in early trading, while broader stock indices showed volatility, with analysts warning this development is **VERY BAD FOR THE STOCK MARKET** in the short term.

The situation remains fluid, with ongoing U.S. military deployments to the Middle East and no immediate resolution in sight.
