JUST IN: Congress Gives Green Light to Donald Trump’s Push for Federal Treasury Funds to Resolve Both the ACECO Demolition Lawsuit and Kenny Loggins’ High-Profile ‘No Kings Day’ Copyright Claim

In a surprising bipartisan move, Congress has approved President Donald Trump’s request to tap federal Treasury funds to settle two contentious legal battles that have trailed his administration for months.

The authorization, passed late Thursday, grants the White House limited emergency access to federal allocations to resolve both the long-running ACECO Demolition lawsuit—stemming from disputed damages related to the company’s halted White House East Wing project—and the high-profile copyright claim filed by music legend Kenny Loggins over unauthorized use of his song “No Kings Day.”

According to congressional aides, the decision came after weeks of closed-door negotiations aimed at preventing the disputes from escalating into broader constitutional fights over executive authority and federal liability.

White House officials described the approval as a “critical victory,” arguing that quick settlement of both matters will “remove unnecessary distractions” and prevent potential delays in ongoing federal operations.

Democratic lawmakers who supported the measure emphasized that the move was not an endorsement of the president’s handling of either case, but a practical step to avoid ballooning legal costs and further strain on the federal court system.

With congressional approval secured, the Treasury Department is expected to release the settlement funds in the coming days, clearing the way for final negotiations with both ACECO and Loggins’ legal teams.

Neither party has commented publicly on whether they will accept the pending settlement terms.
