Los Angeles, CA – January 29, 2026 – Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel delivered a scathing takedown of First Lady Melania Trump’s new documentary *Melania* during his monologue on *Jimmy Kimmel Live!*, calling it everything from a “$75 million bribe Amazon made for her” to something akin to the Jeffrey Epstein files—”no one’s ever going to see them.”

The Amazon MGM Studios film, directed by Brett Ratner and executive-produced by Melania herself, follows the First Lady during the 20 days leading up to President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.

It hits theaters nationwide on January 30 after a splashy VIP premiere at the White House and other events.

Kimmel zeroed in on reports from writer Michael Wolff claiming Melania was “bigly upset” that news events—like reported incidents in Minneapolis—were overshadowing her film’s release.

“Melania is bigly upset that the murders in Minneapolis are overshadowing the release of the $75 million bribe—I mean, documentary—that Amazon made for her,” Kimmel quipped, drawing laughs from the audience.

He played clips from Melania’s recent Fox News interview, where she said her husband and son Barron “loved” the film and called it a “must-watch.”

Kimmel fired back: “My guess is he saw the first eight minutes and fell asleep in his popcorn bucket.” He also mocked family endorsements, joking, “All the people in the movie are giving it rave reviews.”

Kimmel didn’t stop there, sarcastically noting Melania’s reported $28 million payday and predicting dismal box office numbers, trailing behind unrelated horror films.

The segment has quickly gone viral, with clips circulating widely online as the documentary prepares for its theatrical debut amid mixed buzz and controversy surrounding its director and high-profile backing.

The film aims to offer an intimate look at Melania’s return to the role of First Lady, but Kimmel’s roast has turned early promotion into prime late-night fodder.
