BREAKING: FIFA President Gianni Infantino Breaks Silence After Taylor Swift’s Criticism of Donald Trump Peace Prize, Issues Official Statement on Award Decision

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has released an official statement following global controversy sparked by Taylor Swift’s sharp criticism of Donald Trump’s recent FIFA Peace Prize.

The singer’s remarks — in which she questioned the legitimacy of the award and accused FIFA of “political favoritism” — ignited a heated backlash across social media, prompting calls for a response from the organization.

In his statement, Infantino defended the decision, insisting the award was based solely on FIFA’s internal criteria and not influenced by political considerations.

He emphasized that the Peace Prize “recognizes contributions toward conflict resolution and international dialogue within the world of sport,” adding that Trump’s involvement in several sports-related diplomatic initiatives was reviewed by an independent committee.

While Infantino did not mention Swift by name, he acknowledged the “intensity of public reaction” and urged fans and critics to “seek understanding before drawing conclusions.”

He also noted that FIFA stands by the integrity of its awards but is open to “constructive dialogue” on future selection processes.

The controversy shows no signs of slowing, as Swift’s fanbase continues to question the credibility of the award and political commentators debate FIFA’s motivations.

For now, Infantino’s statement marks the organization’s first attempt to regain control of the narrative amid rising public pressure.
