BREAKING: A Community Was Broken—Jason Kelce Just Stepped In. A new scholarship, a $300,000 personal pledge, and a message that’s hitting hard. Full story inside
Philadelphia, PA – Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce announced the establishment of The Renee Good Hope Scholarship Fund, pledging an initial $300,000 from his own resources to honor the memory of Renee Nicole Good, a Minneapolis mother tragically killed earlier this month.
Good, 37, was fatally shot on January 7, 2026, during an incident involving a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, leaving behind a young son and a grieving community.
Her death has prompted national reflection on issues of safety, compassion, and support for affected families.
Kelce, known for his philanthropy and community involvement during and after his 13-year NFL career, described the fund as a way to transform tragedy into lasting opportunity. “Renee’s story touched so many hearts, including mine,” Kelce said in a statement.
“This isn’t just about money—it’s about ensuring her son and others in similar situations have access to education and a brighter future. We can honor her life by investing in hope.”
The scholarship will provide financial assistance for higher education or vocational training, with priority given to children impacted by violence or loss. The fund aims to grow through additional donations and partnerships.
“But this gesture goes far beyond a financial contribution,” Kelce emphasized. “It’s a commitment to remember Renee Nicole Good—not as a headline, but as a mother, a poet, and a beacon of kindness—and to carry forward the compassion she lived by.”
Details on application processes and future expansions will be announced soon via the fund’s forthcoming website.
Kelce’s initiative has already inspired an outpouring of support from fans and fellow athletes, underscoring the power of turning grief into positive action.
