Sofía Vergara Sets Record Straight on Her Relationship Status

Sofía Vergara revealed she is actually “kind of single” after being romantically linked to orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman in April.

Sofía Vergara may have just given a hint about where she stands on her modern romance.

Months after going Instagram official with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman, the Modern Family actress shared a glimpse into her dating life.

When asked if she believes New York City is the best place for romance, Sofía said, “Totally.”

“Actually, I was talking yesterday about it,” she told Us Weekly in an interview published Oct. 24, “because now I’m single.”

The 52-year-old was quick to add that she’s actually “kind of single,” though she didn’t expand on where she and Justin currently stand.

And as for why the Big Apple is the perfect place to date? “There’s a more diverse group of people in New York than in L.A. because most of the people are in the entertainment business,

” Sofia—who is mom to son Manolo, 32, from a previous marriage to Joe Gonzalez—explained, adding that N.Y.C. has “people from all over the world—architects, writers, actors, businesspeople.”

Sofia and Justin first sparked dating rumors in late 2023. The two went public with their relationship in April, when Justin appeared on her Instagram Story.

“If u ever get a major knee surgery make sure u get a handsome doctor who will sleep with u that night!!!!” she captioned a photo of Justin holding her bandaged leg. “Luv u Dr @jdsaliman.”

The romance marked Sofía’s first since she and Joe Manganiello filed for divorce in July 2023 after seven years of marriage.

According to the Emmy nominee, the reason for the split was because Joe wanted children while she did not.

However, Joe—who is now dating Caitlin O’Connor—denied the claims, telling Men’s Journal in July that the divorce came about “because two people grew apart, and sometimes that happens.”

Still, Sofía managed to keep a sense of humor about her split from the Magic Mike alum, with her joking in May that she was still getting good use out of her “J” tattoo by dating Justin.

“This one is Joe Manganiello’s initial,” she shared on The Talk. “But now he’s gone.”

Sofía quipped, “How lucky can I be that the guy that I’m going out has the same initial? Recycle, recycle!”
