THE New York Giants have done some fact checking on President Donald Trump.
During the Philadelphia Eagles’ White House visit after winning the Super Bowl, Trump made some claims that the Giants didn’t agree with.
The Giants are disputing Trump’s claim that he told members of the Giants not to let Saquon Barkley leave the team.
He also mentioned speaking to head coach Brian Daboll about the running back.
“I was with the Giants and the head coach and some people and I said, ‘Do anything you have to, but donβt lose Saquon.,” Trump said.
“They lost Saquon. That was not good. I called that one.
“That was an easy one to call because he played damn well for the Giants, I can tell you that.”
After Trump made that statement, Giants vice president of communications Pat Hanlon told Front Office Sports that “there were no conversations” with the president.
When FOS asked if he could confirm that any conversation took place, he simply said “no.”
Hanlon also pointed towards a post he made on his X account, revealing his feelings about the president.
With all due respect, stop yapping. Be the leader we all want you to be,” the post said.
“And my 401K wants you to be. Iβm trying to retire!!”
