One of Taylor Swift’s most famous ex-boyfriends, Joe Jonas, had but three words to say to a fan who couldn’t help but quote Swift’s “Mr. Perfectly Fine” lyrics on Jonas’ recent TikTok.
On Tuesday, April 22, the “Sucker” singer, 35, shared a scattered selfie video wearing a classic gray suit β set to audio of a fan describing, in detail, why Jonas’ “TikTok presence makes so much sense.”
“Loyal fans were always going to keep up with Joe Jonas, but he represents a type of celebrity who desires to be top of mind,” the audio continued. “And I think that this is smart.”
While the top two comments on the post were from the official New Jersey and Walmart TikTok accounts, respectively (each gushing over the Jonas Brother), it was a comment from a Swiftie named Abby that garnered the most attention β including from Jonas himself.
Others, however, believed that Jonas didn’t get the Swift-related reference.
“I’d die if he actually knew the reference,” one person mused. Another agreed, writing, “lol he doesnβt know.”
Despite the doubt from some fans, Jonas may have indeed gotten the reference to the song β and that exact lyric. Back when Swift, 35, dropped the From the Vault bonus track off of Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in 2021, Sophie Turner, Jonas’ then-wife, posted the same exact lyric β “so dignified in his well-pressed suit” β quipping, “It’s not NOT a bop.”
Though Swift nor Jonas have ever confirmed the track is about him, Turner certainly trolled her then-husband enough about the song β even wearing a “Mr. Perfectly Fine” friendship bracelet to one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows β that it certainly seems as if the tune was inspired by Swift and Jonas’ 2008 split.
