Before Patrick Mahomes was even born, his mother, Randi Mahomes, would go to the church every Sunday and Wednesday with her neighbors, praying that when she has kids, this is exactly what she will teach them.
Fast forward to her becoming a mother of Patrick Mahomes, Mia, and Jackson, and the lessons continued. Her greatest achievement? “I love seeing Patrick still do that.”
It did not matter if she was working till 2 in the morning as an event planner, she would have everyone ready to go to the church next morning as she believed “If I couldn’t teach them something being a mom, maybe they would hear it in church.” And this habit has continued.
Remember how the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback would bow down to his knees and pray before every game? This is, in fact, a personal tradition he has created since his high school years where he would pray for two hours before taking on the field.
During his pre-game press conference for Super Bowl LVIII, he also gave glory to God, mentioning how “He has a role in everything I do.” As for Randi, she has mentioned “I just pray that God protects them (every team playing).” And now, she has another reminder to the world, showing her deeply rooted belief
On Sunday, Randi shared a quiet but powerful moment from church, and it was a reminder that behind the glitz of the NFL world, she’s leaning into something far more grounding.
If there’s one thing Randi Mahomes doesn’t play about, it’s her faith. The mom of the Kansas City Chiefs QB has always been about family and good vibes, but lately, she’s been leaning even more into her spiritual side—and honestly, it’s kind of beautiful to see.
This past Sunday (April 13), Randi shared a quick Instagram story from Rose Heights Church, where she was up on stage during the service. She kept it simple: “Jesus loves you.” Just that.
No long caption, no big explanation. And yet, it said a lot. If you’ve been following her lately, you already know faith has been a huge part of how she’s been getting through some heavy stuff. Earlier this year, Randi lost her father, Randy Martin. He wasn’t just her
dad—he was a mentor, a teacher, and someone who clearly meant the world to her. When he passed away in February, she shared a super emotional tribute on Instagram. One of the photos showed her holding his hand in his final moments. She quoted, “Well done, good and faithful servant! Matthew 25:23”
